Evolution Korea
In the debate over evolution, Korean scientists aren't taking their chances. The Society for Textbook Revise (STR) has been battling to get the Archaeopteryx and horses removed from textbooks, saying they are typical icons of evolutionism.
Confucian traditions, with their emphasis on global success and the value of learning, still dominate the country's culture. But Korea is seeking a new development paradigm.

Origins
The development of Iron Age cultures brought more sophisticated states to the Korean Peninsula, like Goguryeo and Baekje. They all developed their own culture which blended with the influence of their powerful neighbours and also embraced various aspects of Chinese culture, particularly Confucianism and Buddhism however shamanism continued to be practised too.
Goguryeo was the first of these kingdoms to impose its own system of government on the Korean people. It established a king centered system of government in the 2nd century. It expanded its territory to Manchuria and the north of the Peninsula by several wars that drove Han loyalists from the area.
